TFS: Query for builds containing a specific changeset

左心房为你撑大大i 提交于 2019-12-04 07:47:13
I have a number of build definitions that get executed based upon a single branch in TFS (eg Main). I'd like to (somehow) query TFS to find all builds containing a specific changeset number that I supply, and return a list of string of the names of the builds that TFS contains. Any kind of app (VS extension, CLI app, winforms, whatever) will do. Note: this isn't a 'plz give me the code' request; I'm willing to hoof it and do serious work on this. Any pointers to documentation on how to query the database or SDK, or an example of how to query builds; just some place to start looking would be

Excluded branches showing on TFS branch diagram

I am using TFS2010, through VS2013, and when I go to my master branch, Branching and Merging > View Hierarchy . It shows up some deleted branches. They were excluded by myself long ago, but I can't remove them from diagram. Here are the hierarchy view: I already tried to remove all the checkouts from all the collaborators through TFS Sidekicks, but without any luck. I tried to Google it, and also tried other questions here, including this one , which I have replied but does not apply to the same problem... I am yet to find a proper solution to this problem, but I could find an work-around...

Fetching the comment history for a work item in TFS

In most defect trackers there is a comment history associated with a ticket/incident/issue/work item. I wish to get this same information from TFS via the SDK for a work item - ideally: Who created the comment. The text of the comment. Who last updated/edited the comment (if that's event possible in TFS?) I have determined that a WorkItem has a collection of revisions availabe via the "Revisions" property, and that you can loop through each revision - but a revision does not have a "History" property where I assume I could find the comment created by the user. Also I don't believe it's

Creating a build process template which does nothing but copy all files to another directory

问题 I would like to create a Build Definition inside TFS 2012 Express which will simply copy all files within my project source tree to another folder on my drive. Just to underline - I do not want the build output to go to another directory - I want the source files themselves to. The reason for this is I have IIS pointed at a specific folder, and I want the build to copy the latest asp and aspx files to the IIS hosted folder. I am not sure of the intricacies of doing this, I did find : http:/

TFS2010: Set up an alert that will email a member in the team when a work item is assigned to them

I want to notify each team member when a work item is assigned to them. I know how to set up an alert per team member (so if there are 10 team members I set up 10 seperate alerts) but is there a way to set up a single alert that will email the person the work item is assigned to? I have the filter complete: "PortfolioProject" = 'MyProject' AND ("CoreFields/StringFields/Field[ReferenceName='System.AssignedTo']/OldValue" <> '@Me' AND "CoreFields/StringFields/Field[ReferenceName='System.AssignedTo']/NewValue" = '@Me') .. but I am stuck on how to make the email address that the alert is sent to

What happens to existing workspaces after upgrading to TFS 2010

I was looking for some insight about what happens to existing workspaces and files that are already checked-out on people, after an upgrade to TFS2010. Surprisingly enough I can not find any satisfactory information on this. (I am talking about upgrading on new hardware by the way. Fresh TFS instance, upgraded databases) I've checked TFS Installation guide, I searched through the web, all I could find is upgrade scenarios for the server side. Nobody even mentions what happens to source control clients. I've created a virtual machine to test the upgrade process, The upgrade was successful and

TFS Build email alerts to the [Requested By] user

Is this possible? Me and one of my co-worker are looking for this kind of solution for a while now and we can't find anything similar on Google. The thing is simple. We want to automatically alert the [Requested By] user by email when he or she break the build on TFS 2010. How can we do this, there must be a solution, Microsoft can't had forgotten one of the simplest feature that can be added... Thanks for your answers. If you need more clarifications about my question, please ask! You can do this, but you have to customise the build process or use web services, I've done this by customising

Check-Out files from TFS 2010 with powershell

I only want to check out a path with powershell and also check in this path one minute later at Team Foundation Server. How can i do this? I have installed the tfs power tools at my server. You don't need the power tools. Just use the tf.exe command line util that comes with Visual Studio with TFS Team Explorer. tf edit <file> /noprompt to check out and tf checkin <file> /comment:$comment /noprompt to check in. Look at the command line usage on tf.exe for more info tf /? and tf checkin /? . You will need to configure your PowerShell session with the Path to tf.exe. This is usually done by the

TFS permissions to create Team Projects in a specific collection

We have several Collections in our TFS 2010 server. This server hosts all of our TFS related services. I'd like to allow a specific programmer to create Team Projects within his dedicated collection. He belongs to the collection's TFS administrators group. When he tries to create a new Team Project, it fails with a Reporting permissions error. I understand that he also needs Reporting services permissions to create the relevant Reporting objects for the new Team Project, but I don't want him to be a full admin for the whole server's Reporting Services. Is there a way to allow him the full
