How do I keep MSDeploy from deleting extra folders in my project?

问题 I am using the MSBuild runner in Team city to build and deploy my project to a staging environment. Everything works perfectly except for the fact that it keeps removing my repository folder located in the root of the project. In Visual Studio 2010 there is a check box in the publish profile dialog that says "Leave extra files on destination (do not delete)" Is there a way to accomplish the same thing with MSBuild? <Target Name="Deploy" DependsOnTargets="Build;Test"> <MSBuild Projects=

Strong Signed Assemblies

I have a project I made in Visual Basic 2008 Express. I converted it from someone else's C# project, but it works. It has several DLL dependencies. I went to publish my project so I can install it on another machine and for each DLL, I get an error: "Assembly must be strong signed in order to be marked as a prerequisite." I've done some research, but am not finding a lot and what I have found I don't really understand. What does this error mean? What is the best way to resolve it? One other thing: it took me a LONG time to be able to get all my dll's to reference correctly, so I prefer that

How to publish a JSP project on the Internet using Tomcat web server?

问题 I want to publish my JSP project on the Internet from my PC using Tomcat web server. How can I do that? 回答1: Here's how I would do it. I would go to dyndns.org and get a free, contrived host name and DNS entry. I would set up the dyndns agent on my machine to keep the IP up to date. These 2 steps will give you a an "internet host name" that anyone can look up. Then I would configure my DSL router's firewall to let through port 80 from the outside. Now, you have a live port 80 "on the internet

Precompile during publish for Azure Web Services

问题 We are using Azure Web Services ( not Web-sites ) and run ASP.Net MVC 5.1 application inside it. When I publish web-sites through Web-deploy, I have an option to "Precompile during publishing": When I publish to Azure Web Services, I can't find this option anywhere. Any pointers? The idea is to pre-compile views, so first hit to a view would not be time-penalised by compiling on the fly. I've looked on Razor Generator but it does not suit our needs. I've seen few other options, but compiling

Need some clarification about beta/alpha testing on the developer console

Background The Android developer console has 3 tabs for publishing the app's apk file: alpha, beta and production, as shown here: as I recall from one of Google IO lectures, one cool way to check how good is your app before making a 100% scale publishing, is to allow only a percentage of the users to download the app first. I think it's called "staged rollouts" , because you can rollout the publishing in case it had too many problems to be published to all. My question What is exactly the difference between them, especially between Alpha and Beta? Only the production stage is available for

How to get Visual Studio 'Publish' functionality to include files from post build event?

I am currently attempting to use Visual Studio 2010 'Publish' and MSDeploy functionality to handle my web deployment needs but have run into a roadblock with regards to customizing the package depending on my build configuration. I develop in a 32bit environment but need to create a release package for a 64bit environment, so in the 'Release' configuration I have a post build event that copies the 64bit version of a third-party dll into the bin directory overwriting the 32bit version. When I use the 'Publish' functionality, even though the correct 64bit dll is being copied to the bin directory

“To Do” list before publishing Android app to market [closed]

I'm just about ready to publish my first app to the Android market, and I'd like to know if any of you have any tips about any experiences you may have encountered in regard to publishing an app that goes beyond the obvious and already documented. Any hidden caveats and/or ideas about what to do before publishing an app to the market? For instance, a buddy of mine recommended that I remove any and all comments in my code just in case someone gets to the source code, thus making it more difficult for the would-be "code jacker" to decipher the code. I thought that was a sensible suggestion. What

Can anyone recommend a program to create user manuals with? Not a markup language (like LaTeX or DocBook) but more something interactive like Scribus. As I'm not the only one that will update the manual the software should be something that's easy for a novice to pick up but still has some advanced features
