Common Files in Visual Studio Solution

北战南征 提交于 2019-12-03 12:33:27
Many times I have seen Visual Studio solutions which have multiple projects that share source files. These common source files are usually out in a common directory and in the solution explorer their icon shows up with a link arrow in the bottom left. However, any time I try to add a source file to the project that is outside of that project's main directory, it just automatically copies it into the directory so that I no longer have a shared copy. I found that I can get around this by manually opening the project file in a text editor and modifying the path to something like "../../../Common

How do I show the References folder in Solution Explorer without selecting 'Show All Files' in a VB.NET project?

问题 As I compare many C# example projects to my VB.NET projects, I see that the References folder shows in the Solution Explorer without having to select "Show All Files". Is it possible to have this for a VB.NET project as well? I find that it would be very helpful to have this folder displayed without having to see all the other hidden files as well. I'm using VS2010 Professional. This adds to my list of reasons why I should have learned C# first... thanks in advance to anyone that can either

Disable drag&drop in solution explorer

问题 Is there a way to disable the drag&drop functionality for Solution Explorer? Why would you ask? I'm using an wacom pen tablet for quite some years and I love it. But when you use it in solution explorer in combination with a source control like TFS or AnkhSvn it's a disaster when you accidentally move a file into an different directory. I currently set visual studio to prompt when files are wanted to check out, but when a solution/project file already is checked out then the above problems

How to Reference .xproj into .csproj?

冷暖自知 提交于 2019-12-03 10:06:59
I have .csproj project and I want to reference other project that is .xproj , everything looks fine but when I try to build solution then I cannot because the .dll is missing. When i reference the .dll from \bin\release\net452\... itself then everything is ok. How to fix that? EDIT: I am not looking for workarounds - now I am using gulp with gulp.move(). It works fine but it feels dirty... It is not possible to reference a xproj from a csproj directly. You have 2 possible solutions for this. A) Deploy the xproj as a NuGet package and use the NuGet package in your csproj. B) Convert your csproj

VS2008: Where is the Startup Project setting stored for a solution?

安稳与你 提交于 2019-12-03 10:03:35
When I right-click my solution in the Solution Explorer and choose Properties I get a dialog where I can select the Startup Project. I sometimes select Current selection (If it is an experimental solution with lots of projects I jump between), but most often it is a Single startup project selected, which would usually be the main WinForms applications or or Console application. My problem is that whenever I do a treeclean with the tfpt command (Team Foundation Power Tools 2008) this setting is forgotten. So when I try to run my solution the next time, it has defaulted to some random project

Organization of files in Code Blocks

问题 I am currently working on a medium/large project on Code::Blocks and I am wondering how to organize my files. First, it seems that creating "virtual folders" in Code::Blocks is quite natural but then on disk, all files are in the root folder of the project and it seems messy for me : if I want to do something outside of Code::Blocks, files are then hard to find. Should I use this method anyway ? Then if I create "real" folders every time I need them, I need to add them to the path in order

Visual Studio 2017 HRESULT: 0x80070005 / E_ACCESSDENIED on project creation

I'm running Visual Studio 2017, version 15.0.0+26228.9 When I'm trying to create a new project via File > New > Project... in Visual Studio 2017, I'm receiving the following error message and the project is not created: Access denied (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070005 (E_ACCESSDENIED)) Don't mind the german message text in the screenshot: This happens for every project template I use (e.g. C# WPF, VB WPF, C# Console App...). If I try to create a project via the quick search box on the starting page of visual studio, VS just crashes instantly with no exception message at all: Has anybody else

How to link multiple visual studio solutions together?

问题 I have 3 solutions and solution A requires built versions of the dlls from solution B and C in order to compile. it is not possible to merge it to one solution... So far it seems that Visual Studio doesnt support solution references and msbuild is clever enough to know that you are building one solution from another etc if I try that way. The overall goal is to try to make the multiple solutions seem almost like there is only one - just solution A. I believe this is a common problem, but how

Clean solution (project) structure with EF, Repositories, Entities

问题 I like to keep the structure of the project as clean as possible. Sample: --BlogApp.sln --BlogApp.Data BlogModel.edmx (the EF mappings) Post.cs (I end up having partial classes in here with attributes) --BlogApp.Domain --Entities Post.cs (I would like to have my POCOs here with all its additional logic) --Repositories PostsRepository.cs --BlogApp.Ui (standard MVC structure) I end up with mess when using EF as my ORM. Could anybody suggest some "clean" way to structure the project? Or maybe

Project Order in Visual Studio Solution

问题 In Visual Studio 2008, what determines the order in which projects appear within a solution folder? It's not alphabetical order, nor is it build order. I cannot find any way of altering the order in which projects are being listed. I've tried removing my .suo file, as well as moving things about in the .sln file. Neither had any effect. How can I change the order in which my projects are being displayed? 回答1: There is a feedback Request already placed at Connect.Microsoft.com so, you will
