iPod Touch compared to iPhone as development platform for iPhone apps

南楼画角 提交于 2019-12-18 02:18:36
问题 Essentially I'd like to know just how compatible are the iPhone and the iPod Touch. I would like to know if I could buy an iPod Touch (and thus save some cash) and develop iPhone apps on it or if I really should spend the extra money and put up with AT&T and get the iPhone. What exactly is different between the two devices (other than the missing phone part in the iPod Touch). Has anyone done this successfully? Or am I crazy for even thinking it? EDIT I've corrected the references to iPod

MKMapView loading all annotation views at once (including those that are outside the current rect)

问题 UPDATE It looks like this problem has been quietly fixed in iOS 4.3. Up to this point, the distance that was considered "far enough" for an annotation to be recycled seemed to be hundreds of miles, even when zoomed in very closely. When I build my app with the iOS 4.3 SDK, annotations are recycled based on more reasonable limits. Has anyone else run into this problem? Here's the code: - (MKAnnotationView *)mapView:(MKMapView *)mapView viewForAnnotation:(WWMapAnnotation *)annotation { // Only

问题 I have seen a lot of questions about this but no one actually gives a real answer (frameworks to import, actual code etc). They only say with a private api and that will get your app rejected from the app store. I am aware that use of a private api will get my app rejected by I was wondering how to do it for personal use. (iPhone SDK 3.1.2, iPod touch 2g) 回答1: I've been looking into this as well. You need to include the bluetoothmanager framework and header file in your project. It should be

Proper method to detect device model (iPhone/iPod Touch)?

问题 Is this the proper way to detect which device a user is running? NSString *currentModel = [[UIDevice currentDevice] model]; if ([currentModel isEqualToString:@"iPhone"]) { // The user is running on iPhone so allow Call, Camera, etc. } else { // The user is running on a different device (iPod / iPad / iPhone Simulator) disallow Call. } 回答1: It is not a general solution but Apple in many cases provides API calls to check wether specific feature is supported or not. Examples could be:

问题 I'm storing text in a sqlite file and setting the text of a UITextView to be the value of that text. The only problem is that the UITextView isn't honoring the newline character. Instead, it's printing it out as text. Here's an example: Stored in fruit.sqlite and passed to theFruit object: requiredFruit = "apples\n oranges\n pears" NSString *theFruit = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"%@", theFruit.requiredFruit]; generalOutlet.text = theFruit; It Displays apples\n oranges\n pears but I want it

Problem programmatically accessing the iTunes library

问题 I built an app that must access the iTunes library. I used MPMediaQuer to retrieve songs from the library as in the following. MPMediaQuery *media = [[MPMediaQuery alloc]init]; NSArray *arr = [media items]; for(MPMediaItem *song in arr) { //To print songs title NSString *title = [song valueForProperty:MPMediaItemPropertyTitle]; NSLog(@"%@", title); } But nothing printed! 问题 This question already has an answer here : How to get iPod Touch simulator in Xcode 6.1 (1 answer) Closed 3 years ago . I need to develop an application to run on a recent iPod touch. Xcode does not have iPod as an option for device (only iPhone or iPad). Likewise, there are no simulators for iPod touch. I've read you can just select iPhone as the device and simulator but I am skeptical that will create an app I can deploy to a iPod. I've also read you can use iPod's to test iPhone apps but

Magnetometer for Compass on iPod Touch 4G

问题 I understand that it is not possible to get magnetic heading readings from the CoreLocation framework on an iPod Touch 4G, but it is possible to produce magnetometer readings using the CoreMotion framework. I also understand that I need to use CMMotionManager and set the deviceMotionUpdateInterval to achieve this. I can then start and stop the updates with - (void)startMagnetometerUpdates and - (void)stopMagnetometerUpdates respectivley. Now that I have my raw magnetometer data (x,y,z), how

Which iOS devices should we have for reasonable functionality and performance testing?

问题 We are developing our first iPhone game, and all is going OK for now. We are testing on an iPhone 3GS and an iPad 1. We were wondering which devices should we test on to make sure that also people with older devices will be able to play the game and actually enjoy it. I have been recommended to get an iPod Touch 2nd generation; since these do not come cheap, I wanted to ask more experienced people for their opinion. I have found a couple of these on eBay from respectable sellers; one is a
