How to format a duration as HH:mm in the new Google sheets

问题 In the new Google sheets there's a way of formatting a number as a duration. Format -> Number -> Duration. 1 is formatted as 24:00:00 1.2 is formatted as 28:48:00 1.5 is formatted as 36:00:00 0.03125 is formatted as 0:45:00 . I don't need the seconds in the duration representation, because they bloat my timesheet. How can I format a duration as HH:mm (without using a formula to calculate hours and minutes and concatenate that with a colon). Is there a way of using the TEXT formula. This is

I'm doing this query at my google spreadsheet: =QUERY(H4:L35;"select sum(L) where H='First Week'"; -1) But it returns a little table with "sum" as header and result below it. What I want is just the result! How I remove header? Can I? Try this: =QUERY(H4:L35,"select sum(L) where H='First Week' label sum(L) ''") Hope that Helps! user280150 =QUERY(QUERY(A1:D, "SELECT *", 1), "SELECT * OFFSET 1", 0) The outer query: "SELECT * OFFSET 1" excludes the first row (the header). The inner query explicitly specifies one row of headers (via the third argument supplied to QUERY ), whilst the outer query

Parse error from using .setValue or .SetFormula to set a formula containing a query function that has multiple single and double quotes

I have a formula in sheet A using new google sheets that works fine; it contains a query function that filters the dates based on values in sheet B('Settings') and data in sheet C('Data'). The working formula: =QUERY(Data!A1:G,"select G, sum(E) where F is not null AND toDate(D)>= date '" & text('Settings'!B5, "yyyy-MM-dd")&"' and toDate(D)<= date '" & text('Settings'!B6, "yyyy-MM-dd")&"'group by G pivot B label G'Pivot table for data in range'") The problem is that I would like to set this formula with a script using the .setFormula or .setValue range methods, but am having problems with the

Comparing two columns, and returning a specific adjacent cell in Excel

I am using a combination of if , vlookup , match , iserror functions, and unfortunately I've not been able to find the right formula. Comparing two columns for matches is easy enough. the tough part has been returning a specific cell once a match is found. So what I'm dealing with is something kind of like this: Header Column A Column B Column C Column D Row 1 111 AAA 112 Row 2 222 BBB 111 Row 3 333 CCC 221 Row 4 444 DDD 333 I'm trying to match column values in Column A , with Column C . So if there's match, I want the corresponding value in Column B to populate in Column D . Not a great

HTML to Excel: How can tell Excel to treat columns as numbers?

I need to achieve the following when opening an HTML in Excel (Response.contentType="application/vnd.ms-excel") : force Excel to consider content of td cells as numbers make the above so that any subsequent user-entered formulas work on these cells (when the spreadsheet is opened) So far I was successful with adding style="vnd.ms-excel.numberformat:0.00" to the td cells in question. The contents of the cells are correctly shown as numbers when I right click on them in the Excel, however the formulas don't work. If successful, that technique would be quite useful because any web Excel report

Getting formula of another cell in target cell

How does one cell obtain the formula of another cell as text without using VBA? I can see this question has already been asked many times and the answer is always to write a custom function in VBA. However, I found a post made in 2006 which claimed to have found the non-VBA solution but the link provided in that post is already broken. There is nice way of doing this without VBA. It uses XL4 macros (these are macros, but it is not VBA, as asked). With reference to the figure 1, cells A2:A4 contain usual formulas. Going to Formulas -> Define Name, I defined two named ranges (see fig. 2), with
