In-line footnotes with only HTML/CSS (in-notes?)

问题 Rather than below or alongside the main content, notes on FiveThirtyEight expand within or below the paragraph when the note tag is clicked. Instead of footnotes they could be called in-notes . I find them very efficient and believe they take are the most web-suited note system I have seen. (Of course, I don't really want to fanboy Nate Silver like that.) How do I code these in-notes? I have looked around and I have seen some solutions using jquery or other languages, but it looks like 538 is

问题 I'm writing my dissertation and the grad school says I need a space between multiple footnotes and also the space between the text and the start of the footnotes is too small. Is there a way to do this? Any help is greatly appreciated. 回答1: \footnotesep is the space between footnotes: \setlength{\footnotesep}{0.5cm} \footins is the space between the text body and the footnotes: \setlength{\skip\footins}{2cm} You might want to play around with the actual numbers, I've just chosen some values

Markdown: Footnotes with Bullet Points

问题 I know that markdown has mixed support for footnotes. The flavour that I am using does support them, but I have the following question: Can Markdown footnotes include additional paragraphs or bulleted lists? It doesn’t seem to work on the Markdown edit I’m using (MacDown), but maybe I have missed something, or maybe some other flavours do support more sophisticated footnotes? Thanks 回答1: You say that the flavour you're using supports footnotes, but you don't specify which flavour that is. I'm

How can I make rails_footnotes open files using Sublime Text 2?

问题 I'm not asking how to tell footnotes how to do this - I'm using this line in the initializers/footnotes.rb file: Footnotes::Filter.prefix = 'txmt://open?url=file://%s&line=%d&column=%d' My question is what should go in place of the txmt://open?... ? I've tried subl:// and sblm:// but no joy. Is it something to do with the open?url= etc? 回答1: subl-handler works by interpreting txmt urls, and forwarding them to Sublime. If you, like me, have TextMate or any other application currently

glossaries package and footnote in LaTeX

问题 I am currently stuck, having two separate glossaries: main & acronyms . Acronyms glossary prints footnotes on first use in the text, but main glossary does not. Is there any way to make any other glossary than acronyms to print footnote on first use of the term? I don't get how to do it. Here is the code example compiled with TeXnic Center and MiKTeX 2.7: \documentclass{article} \usepackage{index} \usepackage[toc,style=long3colheaderborder,footnote,acronym]{glossaries} \makeindex

Show multiple footnotes in xtable

问题 My question is very similar to this one on showing footnotes in xtable , although the suggested updated solution isn't working for me. I presume this is because I am missing something in my own setup, hence the separate question. I don't think the issue is what is described in this question, as I am using the sanitize.text.function in the print call rather than the xtable call. Below is an image of the PDF output. As can be seen, the actual footnote text does not appear in the PDF output,

问题 I need to make a footnote in iReport. The description of footnote should be displayed only in the bottom(footer) of the page, where we have number-reference in text. How we can catch the reference in text and show footnote using variables or group names? May be anyone has some examples? Generate inline rather than list-style footnotes in Pandoc Markdown output?

问题 When converting from some format (say, HTML or Docx) to Markdown in Pandoc, is it possible to render all footnotes in the inline style ("this is the main text^[this is a footnote]") rather than as numbered references with a corresponding list at the end of the document? I want to work on my Markdown documents (converted from a Docx of my thesis) as master texts, but now if I add a new footnote it messes up the numbering. Alternatively, is there another convenient way (i.e. not Pandoc) that
