问题 I am trying to have my TFS Build create the web.config transform associated with the configuration I selected for my build. When I run the build I check the web.config file no transforms have been applied. When I a publish from VS2012 the transform works correctly. I have set up TFS 2012 (Update 2), and have a separate server for builds. I don't have VS2012 installed on the build server, but I copied the C:\Program Files (x86)\MSBuild\Microsoft\VisualStudio\v11.0\ Web and WebApplications

As the resident TFS admin, on occasion I am asked to undo a checkout (usually a lock) that a user has on a certain file checked into source control. How do you undo another user's checkout? brett rogers There are at least 2 different ways to do this: Command Line There is a command-line utility called Tf.exe that comes with Team Explorer. How to remove a specific changeset in tfs2010? I have changeset version numbers with 545, 544, 543,542. Now, I am looking to delete the particular changeset 543 only in tfs? You have to Rollback the changeset, you can't delete a changeset. ( Rollback Command ) In your case a simple Rollback command would be like this: TF rollback /changeset:C543 You cannot delete a changeset in TFS. Even if you could somehow, (I think you can run a sql query against the TFS database to do that) its not a good practice. If people start deleting changesets/history the whole purpose of version control will be

Fail a build if code coverage is below a threshold in TFS2012

I'm trying to fail builds in TFS Service (Hosted TFS2012) when Code Coverage is below a threshold. I've been messing around with the solution at http://scrumdod.blogspot.co.uk/2011/04/fail-build-if-code-coverage-is-low.html However, I'm using TFS2012 and a great many things appear to have changed. In particular, the configuration of the test run is completely different and there does not appear to be any way to get or set the location and name of the .coverage file in either the build process template or the .runsettings file. How would I go about finding (or setting) the location of the

how to import Git project to TFS Cloud

I visited our Team Foundation Service page and found a great new feature: New Team Project + Git This is great news. We have Projects in Team Foundation Service AND Git. Not as much because I love Git. I was very impressed with it's functionality, but never comfortable with its interface. That said, Git is an accepted standard for Open Source and I love the idea of being able to admin my Git Repos through TFS. Getting the best of both worlds (I hope). I was able to create a Test Project in Git and am excited. Problem: for all the site searching, googling, poking, prodding, I can't figure out

问题 I read everything about the upgrade process from TFS 2008 to 2012. but my situation is a bit diffrent. I need to move data from tfs 2008 (sqlserver 2003) to tfs 2012 (sqlserver 2008 R2) without damaging the TFS 2012 data. what is the best practice? How do I permanently exclude the bin and obj folders from TFS 2012 checkin?

I mucked around with TFS settings and I accidentally included the bin and obj folders for TFS 2012 checkin, and even checked them in already. I don't want this because these files change often and aren't meant for inclusion. I've checked What happened to "Exclude from Source Control" in VS2012 . The accepted answer doesn't work because the bin & obj folders and the DLLs inside those folders don't appear in the "Promote Candidate Changes" list, even after excluding them. The second most popular answer also doesn't work permanently. I press yes to all and it removes them from the included

I deleted some files and some folders in TFS. Many check in's later I found out that I need the deleted functionality back in my project. How can I restore the deleted files and folders? In Team Explorer (in Visual Studio): Tools | Options | Source Control | Visual Studio Team Foundation Server and select Show Deleted Items... Then in source control explorer you'll see the items greyed out. You can right click on them and Undelete. (This option will only be available if they, after the undelete, will be included in your current workspace). NB. in newer versions of Visual Studio (eg. 2013)

Check-in each project separately?

问题 I have several projects hosted as separate TFS projects. When I want to check-in changes, all the changes of all projects sum up together and commit as one check-in. I want to handle the check-ins per project, so that the current check-in only commits the files of the current solution. Here is what the TFS Pending Changes page looks like: The red is "Project 1", the black is "Project 2", I don't want the black to be here at all. 回答1: There are several options: You can create separate

TFS checkin error - could not find file

When checking in my project I get the error: Could not find file 'C\blah blah blah'. I have a feeling this might be a file from an old project I deleted. I have tried deleting my TFS connection and workspaces. doingweb This will happen when TFS has some changes staged that no longer exist on the file system. For instance, if you add some files in Visual Studio (which adds them to the changes list), delete them directly from the file system, then attempt to check in the changes, it will complain that it could not find the file(s). To remove these changes from the list, you can open Source
