TFS creates a $tf folder with gigabytes of .gz files. Can I safely delete it?

I am using visual studio 2012 with Microsoft TFS 2012. On the workspace that is created on my c: drive, a hidden folder $tf is created. I suspect TFS from creating this folder. It's lurking diskspace as the current size is several gigabytes now and it's about 25% diskspace of the total amount of gigabytes needed for the complete workspace. So this hidden $tf folder is quite huge. The structure is like this: c:\workspace\$tf\0\{many files with guid in filename}.gz c:\workspace\$tf\1\{many files with guid in filename}.gz Does anyone know if I can delete this $tf folder safely or if it is

How to queue another TFS (2012) Build from a TFS Build AND pass process parameters?

问题 The product I work on comprises 3/4 seperate (non-dependant) TFS builds. I would like to create a single TFS build which queues the other 3/4 builds from within the ProcessTemplate AND, critically, pass process parameters to them. This build would wait for them all to complete and return an overall success/failure of the build. So my questions are: Can this be achieved by any existing 'standard' Workflow activities (my manager has had bad experiences with custom workflow activities)? If not,

问题 I am running a TFS 2012 installation on a virtual machine (inside Windows Azure). Everything works fine, except that files bigger than 5MB cannot be checked in. On the client side it says: "The request was aborted: The request was canceled.". On the server side the event log contains an error saying: - <Event xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/win/2004/08/events/event"> - <System> <Provider Name="TFS Services" /> <EventID Qualifiers="0">4000</EventID> <Level>2</Level> <Task>0</Task>

Creating a build process template which does nothing but copy all files to another directory

I would like to create a Build Definition inside TFS 2012 Express which will simply copy all files within my project source tree to another folder on my drive. Just to underline - I do not want the build output to go to another directory - I want the source files themselves to. The reason for this is I have IIS pointed at a specific folder, and I want the build to copy the latest asp and aspx files to the IIS hosted folder. I am not sure of the intricacies of doing this, I did find : http://toadcode.blogspot.co.uk/2008/06/copy-multiple-files-via-tfs-build.html articles like this but I simply

TEE 2012 does not check out files automatically

问题 I have TFS Server 2012 SP1. Eclipse 3.6.2 (Helios Service Release 2). TEE 11.0.0.201211191425 I see a complete team menu, I can check-out and check-in files manually. However if I just start editing a file it will not be checked out automatically :( as it did with 2010 before updates. I have tried to change settings to "Display progress while checking out" and "Prompt before checking out" - no effect. "Detect changes..." functionality does not work either. Only if I close the project and then

Revoking TFS Merge Credits

I understand that when performing a merge from BRANCHA > BRANCHB and selecting “Keep Target” on some files will result in “Merge Credits” being granted to those files in TFS history: Merging Developement Branch to Main: There were no changes to merge Is there a way for us to revoke/wipe the Merge Credits on given files, effectively enabling our developers to perform a /force merge via Source Control Explorer? Context: On a weekly basis, we merge from BRANCHA > BRANCHB to synchronize parallel efforts. Any files with unresolved conflicts are noted and their owners are notified to perform a merge

How do I get the the expected output from a TFS 2015 build (to match my XAML build)?

We just upgraded to TFS2015 (onsite) and I'm trying to set up a build that will do the same thing as my xaml builds but I can't seem to get the same files built. Here's a picture of the xaml output directory that I use to publish the site. To get this I navigate to the build folder then drill down to the _PublishedWebsites\BOTWSitecoreWeb folder: Here's a picture of the solution explorer: So as you can see BOTWSitecoreWeb is my startup project and it forms the basis for the website. So to publish this website I simply copy the folder: _PublishedWebsites\BOTWSitecoreWeb to my IIS directory.

TFS2012 LabDefault.11 template deploy scripts fail with “Team Foundation Server could not complete the deployment task”

I am having security issues with lab management and standard environments. I have TFS2012 update 2 installed in my domain "DevDomain". I have a separate build/lab machine also in "DevDomain" on which both a build controller, build agents and a test controller for the same collection "CollectionA" are installed. Automated builds work just perfectly. I have deployment target PCs in "DevDomain" and in "TestDomain" (more on that later). To take this to the next level, I want to now automatically deploy the TFS build agent constructed software to test rig machines; specifically I want to have a
