Maps with Windows Forms application

问题 I am building a C#/Winforms application that requires a map (a la Google maps, Bing maps etc.). But I am terribly confused by the ToU (licensing) - non-commercial use etc. My questions: What mapping provider would you suggest (preferably free) to embed with a winforms application, for commercial purposes. What mapping provider would you recommend if the app is "offline" i.e. cannot get tiles from a mapping server. Google Earth seemed quite promising until I read in the ToU of non-commercial

I've created pushpin using the follwing code var pin = new Microsoft.Maps.Pushpin(data._LatLong, { icon: 'images/pushpin.png', text: '1', typeName: 'pushpinStyle' }); Text displayed in the pushpin icon is 5px below from top of the icon by default. I've changed the height and width of the pushpin icon, but no improvement in text format inside the pushpin. How to format the text inside the pushpin. I've googled a lot but i didn't get the correct response. Thanks in advance You are on the right track to specify the typeName property for your Pushpin. As you probably already know, specifying a

Can I adjust my Bing Map's View/LocationRect/Bounding Box by a small amount?

I am using this code: photraxMap.SetView(new LocationRect(App.photosetLocationCollection)); ...to zoom a map to show the List of Locations contained in photosetLocationCollection. photraxMap is a BingMap. SetView() is a Bing Maps method, not my own custom method. The problem is that it works too well - it shows all the markers/pushpins, but just barely - the extreme locations are "clipped" as you can see here: In the screamshot, you can see that the pushpin north of San Andreas as well as the one at Columbia, at the southeast edge of the map, are partially obscured (the one at Pardee is also

Silverlight - Add Pushpin to Bing Maps via C#

问题 I'm getting started with the Silverlight Bing Maps control. How do I add a Pushpin to a map programmatically with C#? Thank you! 回答1: Unknown, Here is a step-by-step post for building a Silverlight app that displays a Bing map of the US, and adds a pushpin at each clicked location. And just for fun I added some "hover" functionality when you browse over the pushpins. Step 1 : Create a sample Silverlight application with Visual Studio (File / New Project / Silverlight Application) Step 2 : Add

Maps for China - which is correct, Satellite or default street map ? does that mean geocoding results are wrong?

So it is known that the maps, either the regular street map or the satellite map, does not line up correctly in specific parts of China. So which map lines up correctly, the satellite map or the default street map? Some sites suggest that the satellite map is correct. But the Google Geocoder is placing locations correctly on the google street map and not on the satellite map. So if the satellite map is considered to be correctly aligned with China, does that mean that the Google Geocoder is also returning incorrect coordinates for locations in China? I have not been able to find any official

draggable pushpin windows phone 7 bing maps control

Just wondering if there are any decent resources on how to program a draggable pushpin for a map in a windows phone 7 application. I've had a good look and can only find information about how to do it for a browser application. Ideally I want the user to be able to click on a pushpin and drag it to a location on the map however, at the minute the only way I can think of doing this is for the user to drag the map and the pushpin remains at the centre of the map. I've not seen this done on a WP7 app yet - but here is a description for Silverlight 3 - http://pietschsoft.com/post/2010/05/30

No more bird's eye view in the Bing Maps V8 API?

It appears that Bird's Eye View is no longer available in V8. Can anyone confirm that this is actually the case or if there is any way of still using Bird's Eye View in the new version? Microsoft's documentation about this is very poor, so I just pieced the information together from various sources. For example: 1. In their MapTypeId Enumeration the 'birdseye' option doesn't exist anymore. This used to exist in V7. 2. Bing's own snippet generator for embeded maps has an option to add the Bird's Eye View, but when checked it only adds a "View bird's eye" link under the map which redirects you

Hello I am working on a UWP map based application. I am currently using Raster Tiles data to remove the Bing Map default tiles. I Want to now shift to using Vector Tiles on the Bing map control. For Raster Tiles I know there are two ways: Set Tile data via the HTTPTileSource Set Tile data via the BitMapTileSource I want to know how can I implement Vector Tiles on the bing map control. The Vector tiles I get are of the extention .pbf . I have to hit the URL and get the .pbf file now how do I place the tile on the map? This won't be easy, but can be done. There are two key things you will need

Calculating the driving distance between two points using PHP only (Bing maps)

I'd like to work out the distance between two points. No map. No javascript. Just the distance. I understand Google maps prohibits this and it's against their terms of service. But Bing Maps doesn't have this restriction. I want to give the points in a general format, i.e "Cambridge" "Church Street, Newcastle" How would I go about doing it? As basic as possible. It's for a mobile device. 1.) Sign up for a Bing Maps key at http://www.bingmapsportal.com . A key is a alphanumeric string of around 64 characters in length, something like: AtGYpcoIpC5zy0P2k4Bc4839b-
