I want to have a small QFormLayout that grows to fill its parent widget. I created a new .ui file using the QWidget template in Qt Designer. I put a QFormLayout inside that 'window', then put some controls inside that QFormLayout . This all works reasonably well, but the QFormLayout always stays at the size I set in Qt Designer. I would like the QFormLayout to fill its parent widget and grow/shrink with it. How can I accomplish that? View's have a minHeight but somehow are lacking a maxHeight : What I'm trying to achieve is having some items (views) filling up a ScrollView . When there are 1..3 items I want to display them directly. Meaning the ScrollView has the height of either 1, 2 or 3 items. When there are 4 or more items I want the ScrollView to stop expanding (thus a maxHeight ) and start providing scrolling. However, there is unfortunately no way to set a maxHeight . So I probably have to set my ScrollView height programmatically to either WRAP_CONTENT when there are 1..3 items and set the height to 3*sizeOf(View)

Is there a css-only solution to scale an image into a bounding box (keeping aspect-ratio)? I simply want flowing text on the left, and a help box on the right. The help box should extend all the way to the bottom. If you take out the outer StackPanel below it works great. But for reasons of layout (I'm inserting UserControls dynamically) I need to have the wrapping StackPanel.
