It's my first posting on here (although I've been using this site for reference for quite some time). I've been trying for several days now to find or dream up a way to use Facebook's "Single Sign On" from within a mobile web app (not a native iOS or Android app) to automatically sign a user into a web app if they are already logged into Facebook from the native Facebook app on their mobile device for example. My limited knowledge is telling me that it can't be done since the mobile browser and the 'system' (iOS for example) are too separated (I can't, I don't think, have my mobile web app use

I've included a mobile web form in my asp.net project, I thought that it could/should be seen just for my mobile users but I realize that it can also be seen from any browser, I don't see problem there cause I could diff the access using HttpBrowserCapabilities.IsMobileDevice=true and transferring to the appropiate aspx page, but it results that when I access to the web form from my mobile device it is identified as IsMobileDevice = false and sends me to another page. How could it be possible that? The mobile device runs Pocket PC 2003. Some are not recognized, because the UserAgent has been

I am working on a web development project that I want to make sure works well on the BlackBerry browser. As part of both testing and documentation, I want to be able to take screenshots of my application and was wondering where to start. I see there are a couple of pay applications on BlackBerry App World when I search for screenshot , but I am looking for recommendations or other options. Specifically, I have a Bold 9700 (v5.0.0.296, platform 5.1.0.83). It appears this feature is built into the iPhone, according to the iPhone User Guide . 问题 I'm building a version of my company's website with the jQuery Mobile framework. While it'd be fairly easy to do a javascript redirect to get users of mobile devices to our mobile site, I don't want to stop people from being able to view the classic website either. What's the best way to accomplish this? Our normal website is at: us.companyname.com/ Our mobile website will be at: us.companyname.com/mobile There are some limitations, as we don't hold the domain name, our UK counterparts do, so

Can javascript detect when scrollbars are unavailable (i.e. on mobile browsers)?

I've got a javascript-based Scrolling Widget Thingy™. One of the things it does is create a fixed height div and gives it overflow: auto . Alas on mobile Safari (and other mobile browsers) overflow: auto; doesn't show a scrollbar. Any content below "the fold" can only be found by accident. Is there a way to detect this in javascript, without resorting to browser detection? e.g. if (there is a scrollbar) { /* give me a fixed height and a scrollbar */ } else { /* Do something more suited to this situation */ } I can only think of resorting to dirty tricks: Create 50x50 box Set box to overflow:

window.pixelRatio not working in Opera. Any alternative?

I have been working on making our CMS export valid content for mobile devices. One of the problems we encountered was that newer devices, like the iphone4 have a higher resolution display so we needed to find a way to render the same page correctly on older devices and newer that use a 300dpi display. So far we used javascript and window.devicePixelRatio in order to get the dpi resolution, but it turns out this is not working in opera(?) and opera mobile. Any suggestetions or maybe a defferent approach? I researched a bit but was unable to find somethig. Thanks I think you might misunderstand

How can I prevent iPad Multitasking Gesture from locking mobile web app?

If I have a mobile web app (website with meta tag name="apple-mobile-web-app-capable" content="yes" ) and save it to the homescreen to create the "app"... then open the app and use the four finger swipe to switch applications and switch back to the mobile web app... it will bring me back, but the app is completely locked/frozen/disabled. Is there any way to make it so the app doesn't get locked when swiping away and back to it? If not, I suppose it would be better to restart the app than bring up a frozen screen.. so would that be possible? Restarting the app is easy. I dont know of any
