Executing methods one after another with pauses between executing

Newbie obj-c question. I am writing a simple iPad presentation not for Appstore. My task is to implement few methods executed one after another with little pauses between them. Main structure looks like this: view loads two seconds pause, then executing method1 two seconds pause, then executing method2 two seconds pause, then executing method3 etc... First method I am calling from -viewDidLoad: NSTimer *timer = [NSTimer scheduledTimerWithTimeInterval:2.0 target:self selector:@selector(firstCountStarts) userInfo:nil repeats:NO]; Everything is ok here, method starts 2 seconds after view loads.

How do I call a method of a Java instance from JavaScript?

I'm using the Mozilla Rhino JavaScript emulator. It allows me to add Java methods to a context and then call them as if they were JavaScript functions. But I can't get it to work except when I use a static method. The problem is this part of the documentation: If the method is not static, the Java 'this' value will correspond to the JavaScript 'this' value. Any attempt to call the function with a 'this' value that is not of the right Java type will result in an error. Apparently, my Java "this" value doesn't correspond with the one in JavaScript and I have no idea how to make them correspond.

Java: Calling a static method in the main() method

问题 I am supposed to do the following: Write a Java application (Client) program with a static method called generateEmployees( ) that returns a random list of 10 different types of Employee objects. You could either use an array or an ArrayList to store the employee objects that will be returned. Use a for loop to populate randomly different types of employee objects with some random data. You could possibly think a range of values like 1 – 4. If random value is 1, create a HourlyEmployee object

Right now, I have code that looks something like this: Private Sub ShowReport(ByVal reportName As String) Select Case reportName Case "Security" Me.ShowSecurityReport() Case "Configuration" Me.ShowConfigurationReport() Case "RoleUsers" Me.ShowRoleUsersReport() Case Else pnlMessage.Visible = True litMessage.Text = "The report name """ + reportName + """ is invalid." End Select End Sub Is there any way to create code that would use my method naming conventions to simplify things? Here's some pseudocode that describes what I'm looking for: Private Sub ShowReport(ByVal reportName As String) Try

CLR implementation of virtual method calls to interface members

Out of curiosity: how does the CLR dispatch virtual method calls to interface members to the correct implementation? I know about the VTable that the CLR maintains for each type with method slots for each method, and the fact that for each interface it has an additional list of method slots that point to the associated interface method implementations. But I don't understand the following: how does the CLR efficiently determine which interface method slot list to pick from the type's VTable? How does getRequestDispatcher("xxx") get called from getServletContext() in the example below? How does calling procedures like this work in general? Please give me a clear picture about this context. RequestDispatcher dispatcher = getServletContext().getRequestDispatcher("/index.jsp"); dispatcher.include(request, response); AGreenman getServletContext() returns a ServletContext object, which has a method called getRequestDispatcher() . Your line of code is just shorthand for two method calls, and is equivalent to this code: ServletContext context = getServletContext(); RequestDispatcher

Calling a method when UIWebView scrolls

I have a UIWebView that contains a lot of text content. I need to be able to get the location of the UIWebView every time it moves. I am using this code to get the point: pageYOffset = [[webView stringByEvaluatingJavaScriptFromString:@"window.pageYOffset"] intValue]; now I just need to make it so that this variables value is updated everytime the UIWebView position moves, or there is any scrolling. Is it possible to call a method whenever the UIWebView scrolls? You should extend UIWebView, like below @implementation UIWebView(CustomScroll) - (void) scrollViewDidScroll:(UIScrollView *
