.NET managed dll custom actions in Installshield 2018

I am using Installshield 2018 Express edition to make my setup and I wanted to include some custom actions coded in .NET, but I can't find the way to reference a custom action in .NET. I guess Installshield would have an option to refer to the assembly, class and public method to be invoked for the custom action but I can't find any option to do that. ¿Is there any way to achieve this? I'd prefer to use a dll instead of an exe and having to deal with the command line args, etc. Express Edition : I am not sure the Express edition of Installshield supports custom actions or Installscript (custom

Recover containing GC object from managed 'ref' interior pointer

问题 This question is newly relevant in light of the new ref locals and ref return features in the latest versions of C# 7 : With the increased prominence and wider use of managed--or "interior"--pointer variables in C#, occasionally you may need to recover the respective containing Pinnable GC object for such a pointer. For example, if you are passing around a managed pointer to an array element of type T , you might need the array reference T[] itself in order to call (e.g.) Array.Copy(...) . So

Screen scraping a mainframe screen in C# *without* 3rd-party utilities

I'm looking to screen scrape a 3270 mainframe application in C#, but I've got to do so without Attachmate or other 3rd party plugins. Are there free managed libraries to do so in C#? http://www.elink.ibmlink.ibm.com/publications/servlet/pbi.wss?CTY=US&FNC=SRX&PBL=GA23-0059-07 This is the document you are looking for if you plan on doing all of the heavy lifting yourself. It doesn't print out well but is the best source of information on the protocol. I am about to embark on this road myself (thanks to the federal government) and in less than two weeks I intend to have a completed application.

Searching Of Folders in Public Folders by giving its PATH Name

问题 Is it possible to search for all folders and sufolders in public folders by giving the path of the folders by using Exchange Web Service(EWS) Managed Api? 回答1: You can only search within folders, one level deep on EWS so for: PublicFoldersRoot\subjectA\sectionB\partC\ I would search for "subjectA" folder, then once I have that FolderId then I would then search for "sectionB" folder and so on until I find what I need. The method GetPublicFolderByPath takes the path "subjectA\sectonB\partC\"

Between a jsf page and a managed bean, why the getter method is called twice

I have a jsf page with a form has an outputtext in it. The value of outputtext component is called from a backing bean (or managed bean). I know when I code it as #{MyBean.myString} Jsf rename it and calls getMyString() method. However the wierd thing is, when I put a breakpoint to the getter method of this component, I see it is called twice during the page is being rendered. The outputtext is in a h:form, and it is the only component wich is bind to a backingbean. I mean, it is so wierd that jsf should get the value when it first come to the getter method, however it needs to go to the

MSBuild Managed vs Unmanaged property

问题 Is there a way in MSBuild logic to determine if I am running managed vs unmanaged code? Not C++ vs C#, but just managed vs unmanaged? I'd like to set some properties (usually just version information) differently depending on whether the code is managed or unmanaged. 回答1: There are normally two things that change in a vcxproj file for managed complation (afaik, at least that's how we have it in our master c++/cli property sheet used for all cli projects: the CLRSupport property is set to true

How to invoke the screen saver in Windows in C#?

I'd like to invoke the user's screen saver if such is defined, in a Windows environment. I know it can be done using pure C++ code (and then the wrapping in C# is pretty simple), as suggested here . Still, for curiosity, I'd like to know if such task can be accomplished by purely managed code using the dot net framework (version 2.0 and above), without p/invoke and without visiting the C++ side (which, in turn, can use windows API pretty easily). I've an idea, I'm not sure how consistently this would work, so you'd need to research a bit I think, but hopefully it's enough to get you started. A
