What ide is good for developing PyQt apps? I'm using the pydev extension to Eclipse for Python development. Snappy, works in Windows and Linux, pretty nice debugger (comparable to the Eclipse Java IDE debugger). The code completion is able to tie into the PyQt modules as well. If you're referring to writing .ui files, the Qt Designer that comes with PyQt is sufficient for layout of widgets, and pyuic4 will convert them to Python code for you (pyuic4 comes with PyQt). Eclipse PyDev I've found eric4 extremly powerful. It loads qt programs to do the standard stuff (qt-designer, qt-linguist) and

Efficient usage of WebStorm IDE

I've recently fallen in love in WebStorm as an IDE for JavaScript development. The problem is, I come from a world of vim and lightweight editors, so I probably can't fully appreciate all the power that comes with IDE. Yes, I've seen the presentations and read the docs, but there's a lot of features and I'm not sure which of them are truly useful. So, here goes my question: how do you use WebStorm and what do you find most useful? Any power-usage tips? Configuration hacks? Plugins worth mentioning? I'm not looking for a list of features, I'm looking for a real-world usage examples and

TypeScript Web-Based IDE

Given the fact that TypeScript is Open Source, is this Web-Based IDE also available as a tool that can be downloaded anywhere? I'm developing a web application in which the client can write a user-defined expression (with user-defined variables and predefined methods) which is evaluated, compiled and used at runtime on the server using C# .Net. Using TypeScript and its wonderful web-based editor's features like syntax or error highlighting, code completion, method signature suggestion, etc, saves me lots of trouble in the user interface. So is this editor also part of TypeScript? If not, is

Actually I had downloaded an GUI for graphviz (dont remember the site), which said that they had won an Apple Design Award. But that tool really only displays an *.dot file I created. That's it. It's just called "Graphviz"... I guess that there are better tools around for using the Graphviz technology. I tried this one: link text Although they say that they won an Apple Design Award, I really can't see any special GUI there. Very poor interface. Good Java property files editor

I work on an open-source Java project, and we have a lot of resource property files that contains localizable message resources. Those files are translated by volunteers to 20+ languages, and I'm a developer who primarily edits code. In Java, resource files for different locales are grouped together by a naming convention. For example, if the default (normally English) resource is "foo.properties", Japanese resource is in "foo_ja.properties", French one is "foo_fr.properties", etc. For the sake of this question, let's call this group a "resource group." Now, every so often, I need to refactor
