Storing Extra Data Under GeoFire Nodes

I am storing location data via GeoFire in my database, here is the structure: geofire -Ke1uhoT3gpHR_VsehIv -Kdrel2Z_xWI280XNfGg -g: "dr5regw90s" -l -0: 40.7127837 -1: -74.00594130000002 It is avised to store a location's information and geofire data in separate nodes, however I see an advantage to storing some extra data under these geofire nodes, such as the name of a business. This way I'd only have to make only one call to my Firebase to fetch nearby locations as well as their names. Is this achievable via the key_entered method? Has anyone created a similar solution? Is this truly that bad

Filtering results with Geofire + Firebase

I'm trying to figure out how to query with filter with Geofire. Suppose I have restaurants with different category. and I want to add that category to my query. How do I go about this? One way I have now is querying the key with Geofire, run the for loop through each key and get the restaurant, and insert the appropriate restaurant to the array. These seems so inefficient. Is there any other way to go about this? Ideally I will have the filtered results, and only load each item when they're about to be shown. Cheers! Using geofire like geofences

问题 I want to make an app which send a notification when the user enters in an area. I know that exists Geofire, and I would like to use, because i'm using a Firebase database, however I never used it, and I don't know if it has the same behaviour of Google Geofences. Can someone tell me if I can implement my idea with Geofire? Thank you very much for your answers! 回答1: As seen in the oficial Firebase blog in this post, GeoFire Goes Mobile What is GeoFire? 问题 I'm quite new to work with Firebase and its location library, GeoFire. Currently I'm facing some problem when structuring my data. At the moment my db is something like this: users facebook:xxxxx displayName: xx firstName: xx lastName: xx location: g: xxxx l: 0: xxx 1: xxx facebook:yyyyy displayName: yy firstName: yy lastName: yy location: g: yyyy l: 0: yyy 1: yyy I would like to query on users that are near my current user logged in. To do so I can't understand what path I have to specify.

Is there a way to use GeoFire with Firestore?

GeoFire is tightly coupled to the Realtime Database, while geo-queries are a common functional dependency of many apps that are looking to migrate to Firestore. Is there any way to replicate the hashing/retrieval of locations in the Firestore environment? GREAT NEWS. There is now a library for both iOS and Android that replicates GeoFire for Firestore. The library is called GeoFirestore . It has full documentation and is well tested. I currently use it in my app and it works brilliantly. The code is very similar to that of GeoFire so it should only take a few minutes to learn. Edit (July 1st,

I'm developing an app and saving some strings like postedAtTime , postedBy , postedOnDate in Firebase database. I want to save the GeoFire coordinates in the same node in which all the above string are saved, so that later I can do query, easily. Here's the path to which I'm saving all the strings: databaseReferenceHRequests = firebaseDatabase.getReferenceFromUrl("https://appName-e1a35.firebaseio.com/requests/"); This is how I'm saving it: // in onButtonClicked method: postNewRequest(null, imageUID, MainActivity.userName.getText().toString(), time, date, utcFormatDateTime, MainActivity
