Install CAB file from FireFox or command line

问题 I have a CAB file that contains a few DLLs, and an OCX ActiveX control, an OSD describing the contents, and an INF for installing the DLLs and ActiveX control. These are coming from a 3rd party, so I can't control anything except how they are distributed to the client. They are being used within a Java applet, and they work cross browser, but only IE seems to support actually installing the CAB file. The installation is being done via: <OBJECT classid="clsid:actual-class-id-here" NAME="name"

问题 I have a .NET web service. It serves AJAX requests from web users. I would simply like to know how to automatically get the user's timezone... Not current time offset, but the actual timezone - like, Central Standard Time is -5:00 right now, but Eastern Standard Time will be -5:00 once daylight savings is over. I want to differentiate these users. I would also like to know how to get their culture settings ("en-US", etc.) so I can render DateTimes and numbers from my web service to their

How is it that Javascript can function differently from browser to browser?

问题 I don't think I need to provide examples because every web developer knows that you need to test your Javascript to make sure it's compatible across different browsers. What I don't get is why . Isn't Javascript Javascript? It'd be like the .NET framework behaving differently on one computer than it does on another. Can anyone shed some light on this, possibly with some source links to go along with their answer? 回答1: Read this -> http://www.quirksmode.org/js/intro.html there are lots of

问题 I'm using two special fonts on my website for headings and subtitles. They are working fine on a PC in IE, Firefox and Chrome. However, on a Mac in Safari and Chrome the fonts appear emboldened and slightly blurred. The particular fonts I am using are Utopia and Helvetica Neue Condensed Bold. I have generated the font kits using font squirrel based on otf files. I am using the CSS generated by font squirrel. You can see the website at http://shapecast.benmango.co.uk. 问题 I seem to have a slight issue with some spacing in between my lines between Firefox and Safari/Chrome. This first image is how the links on the left, and the line of text after the table on the bottom are supposed to look like: How webpage looks in Safari/Chrome As you can see, the links are lined up well with the rectangle "first genesis group" logo. This is how it looks in firefox As you can see, the links are a bit stretched vertical on the left, thus somehow causing the bottom line to

jQuery “visible” doesn't work in all browsers, but in Firefox

问题 I've made a very simple fiddle here, and you can check it out in different browsers. It only works in Firefox. In other words, seems that $('#select-tag-id option:visible') doesn't work in other browsers. What's wrong? Is it a jQuery bug? The code is: <select id='items'> <option value='1' style='display: none;'>One</option> <option value='1' style='display: block;'>Two</option> <option value='1' style='display: block;'>Three</option> <option value='1' style='display: none;'>Four</option> <

问题 Trying to provide a user with editable XML page in a browser. For example, the following is part of an XML. <Employee name="John Doe" type="contract" ID="1000"> <Salary>10000</Salary> <Email>johndoe@johndoe.com</Email> </Employee> When the above is presented to the user in a brower (either IE or FF), the user should be able to highlight an attribute or the value. When highlighted and the second mouse button is pressed, this would pop up a menu for editing. For attributes and tags, it could be
