问题 I am trying to use either automator or applescript to do two things. add an mp3 to an open keynote presentation (to the entire presentation and not a single slide) upload the resulting keynote presentation to youtube. If I use the add file command, as below it doesn't seem to work, although if i replace slideshow with slide 1, then it adds it to slide 1 only. Thanks very much. tell application "Keynote" tell slideshow 1 add file slideshow 1 path theFile end tell end tell 回答1: You basically

问题 I have an Automator workflow to ping a server, and download the latest copy of a schedule that I frequently use. This schedule then is copied to my dropbox so I can view it on my phone. Before the workflow downloads the newest schedule it deletes the old schedule from dropbox. This works well, except when I don't have an active internet connection. When I don't have an active internet connection, the workflow will still open up dropbox, delete the old schedule, and try to download the newest

AppleScript or Automator to click on menus in an application?

问题 I'm not sure if this is do-able via AppleScript and/or Automator…but I'd like to be able to: a) launch an application (I know this can be done pretty easily by AppleScript or Automator) b) once the application is launched, use AppleScript or Automator to select specific menu items. e.g. I'd like to launch Excel 2008 (I have the home/student edition which doesn't come preconfigured for Automator) and then click the "File" menu and click on "open". Any pointers on where to go/look for how to

Automator: How do I use the Choose from List action?

问题 I'm trying to create a Service using Automator that simply calls textutil convert. Eventually, I want to be able to right-click a docx file and convert to text, rtf, html, etc. After I right-click I want a very simple popup asking for the desired format. I see the Choose from List action. It has no options. Somewhere I got the idea to make the input of Choose from List be Get Specified Text. I then tried putting my list of values in Get Specified Text. However, when I run it, I only get one

Is there a way to trigger a Hot Key/Keyboard Shortcut via a Shell Script, a AppleScript or a Automator Workflow?

I'm an avid Keyboard Maestro user and I need a workaround for triggering a keyboard shortcut like ⌘⇧L (externally, without Keyboard Maestro). So I thought a bash script would be capable of doing such a thing. An AppleScript or an Automator workflow would be sufficient, too. I anybody could help me this would be great. You don't have to read this, but here's why I want to do what I want to do: I have a the same string assigned to various Markdown macros, I use a string instead of Hotkeys because it's much more memorable for me since my brain already is filled with so many application shortcuts.

Automator to Applescript for Editing Code

Just wondering if I can convert a "watch me do" event in Automator to applescript and then edit the resulting code? I've got a recording of entering a query (i.e. Apple1) into Google, but I'd like the query to increase ++ for each loop of the recording, so the result is Apple1, then the next loop would be Apple2, Apple3, etc. I know increments are elementary in programming, but I'm just not sure how to do it using Automator and/or applescript. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It may be simpler just doing it all in Applescript. Example: set counter to 0 set theTerm to "apple" repeat 4

AppleScript: Create new folder from file name and move file into that folder

Basically, I'm trying to create a folder action in Automator so whenever a file is added to a specific folder, it will create a subfolder that matches the filename (without the extension), then move the file into that subfolder. So far, I have successfully used a post from this site ( Create new folder named with a specified file name in Automator ) to create a script that will create the new folder. However, I have been unable to modify the script to move the original file into the new folder. Any help would be appreciated. Here is the full script I am working with for reference: on run

Looking for a terminal command to parse MacOSX dictionary data file

问题 Problem MacOSX comes with dictionaries stored in /Library/Dictionaries . I would like to parse them to obtain dictionary results programmatically (via Terminal, AppleScript, or Automator). The dictionaries are MacOSX packages and all have a Contents folder that contains a file called Body.data . I would like to parse that file for a UTF-8 string (maybe Chinese character double bytes) and return the lines where the string is found. I've tried the following, which is not returning any results:

Automator + Applescript how to: new Desktop (open Calendar and Reminders in it)

问题 The title is what I'm trying to achieve. In Automator, I've tried to simply record the actions of opening a new desktop, and then opening the apps in it -- but I get the The action 'Watch Me Do' encountered an error. Check the actionʼs properties and try running the workflow again Furthermore, if I do it in this way, the action that is recorded is "Click the Desktop 4 button". Similarly, I googled and found Applescripts that create specific Desktops (e.g. Desktop 3) but I always have a
