theano gives “…Waiting for existing lock by unknown process…”

My code was working fine. However, now I am getting an error that says:

I delete the folder lock_dir, but I still get the same message.

I solved this problem by adding the following code to my ~/.theanorc :

[global]
base_compiledir=/tmp/%(user)s/theano.NOBACKUP
