I'm trying to call a method from one UI view that exists in a different class. These are two samples combined from the Android Developer site. I'll focus on one view for this question since the others are basically the same thing.
In my MainActivity.java, I'm setting up the Drawer navigation, populating the list, etc. I have a total of three fragments, each with their own XML for the UI, and each having their own Java class (extension of a Fragment) to handle their respective onCreateView. For one of these fragments, I have a button that calls the method getAddress. This method exists a separate class, LocationActivity.java, because the example code from the Android dev website requires it be an extension of Activity (plus a lot of these methods will be reused from the other fragments).
For my references to where_am_i_longlat.xml, this file just has the UI components. Sorry ran out of room for this post. There is a button in that XML that calls the getAddress button.
In the below code blocks, my where_am_i_longlat.xml has a button that calls the getAddress method. The getAddress method exists in LocationActivity.java. But it can't find that method, I'm guessing because its looking for it inside WhereAmILongLat.java? Plus, th method updates a textbox inside of where_am_i_longlat.xml. Any thoughts on how to go about this.
(Sorry if this is tagged incorrectly, I don't see one specifically for Android development)
