I am using MS Team Foundation Server to implemet Scrum and I would like to see the whole progress and add some columns in the board to be more clear and bright When I go to the public board of all PBIs, I can customize the delivery operation. I can Add new columns: Committed, Tested, Published etc. Public Board PBIs Picture But the problem is when I try to customize the sprint board, it seems to be untouchable I couldn’t add any new columns any way, or even edit columns name Sprint Board PBIs Picture Am I wrong trying to do such thing ? should I just leave it and live with that? Is there any

What is the Difference between CMMI and Agile? [closed]

Is there anyone who can tell me what is the difference between CMMI and Agile. I know some obvious difference, but I want to know it further. I will appreciate it a lot if someone can help me! Thanks! CMMI is a process improvement methodology which aims to take projects or teams from level 1, "chaotic", to a higher level, ideally but not necessarily level 5, "optimising". It consists of various capabilities, each of which is assigned to a specific level. For example, CMM level 2 requires the Project Planning capability. The levels are basically: Chaotic, no real control. Managed, processes at

At the place I am working we are moving to a more agile approach to project management. For tool support for project management I used MS Project and Target Process in the past. But I think they both have serious weaknesses: MS Project is not very intuitive and therefore hard to use especially for novice users.

General Questions about Entity Framework vs. Enterprise Library & a few others [closed]

Brief blurb, My skill in .net has been called "innovative" but I would prefer it be exemplary. Basically, I need a mentor. I own the domain name codeologist.com and I am going to live up to that name but in order to do so I need a mentor & community. On to the questions: Entity Framework - I'd imagine this is an intense framework mapping objects from a factory while retaining the integrity and state of objects within the system. At least, that's what I can intuit from about 15 minutes of a podcast I listened to. RTFM I know but is that a correct general assessment? Enterprise Library - Killer.

We have proposed to use Scrum in our IT Project and our Adviser asks us if it is appropriate to us because we are still amateurs. Is it appropriate to us Scrum even if we are amateurs? The discussion is usually agile vs. waterfall, right? I am linking an article , but it is in Portuguese, so I'll try to transmit some of its ideas: Waterfall is like chess. You think and plan

VSO and multiple projects for a single product team

问题 We have a team of around 10 developers working on a new product. We have split this product into two team projects on Visual Studio Online. Developers can work on both projects during any one sprint. Although we have two team projects, the entire team works together as one agile unit. Why did we do this? We want separate product backlogs Each project has their own Product Owner But this has led to two problems: We have two burn downs, which can make it difficult to track team progress. We

My team and I need to work on a project whose bugs are filed in Bugzilla, using Mylyn. Do you know of any tool or plug-in that provides scrum-inspired burndown charts to Bugzilla or Mylyn? Hopefully, this tool would be free for commercial usage, but we're not closed to commercial tools. Update: 4 hours of

Where in the scrum process is programming architecture discussed? [closed]

Let's say I have my vision and now my product backlog of items. That part is in writing and ready to be used. I am about to create my sprint(s). I am curious. When does a programming team sit down and say "let's use this platform, this framework, and language" and things like "We need a class here," or "I see a way we can use an Interface with that" and so on. When is that kind of talk going on? Are there meetings that come before the sprint where someone decides for all teams - "We are going to use Linux, MySQL, PHP and CodeIgniter" and then one of the teams has a sprint to implement that

I'm starting up a personal project to develop some open source software. I want to use Scrum as the PM process on this (as I like the Product Backlog, prioritisation, and if I can get them, the burndowns) but it seems to me that I won't get the full value because I can't at the outset guarantee the amount of time myself and my collaborators will be able to commit to work during a given sprint. I know
