After following the great tutorials from http://www.raywenderlich.com/ on how to submit your app to the app store from square one I started planning my beta test program. I'm not going to get into details of everything that wen well but of what I'm dealing with right now. I've read many many posts on how to create provisioning profiles for ad hoc distribution of my app to beta testers. I've focused on those helping user get the app over the air (OTA) after a forum recommendation. I also know now that TESTFLIGHT is out there but I can't use it this time. Everything works well except the part

As the title states, I have been developing and testing an app for Iphone. I have got it to install to an iphone via it being plugged into the Mac. But, I would like to get the app place it on my webserver then via a website allow someone to download and install the app. I tried following various tutorials, but as shown below after archiving the app, the export and other buttons are greyed out. Have also made sure 'Generic iOS devices' selected. What could be causing this ? You have to use Apple TestFlight or use a third party service to allow your beta to be distributed for testing. One good

I am trying to build my app for ad hoc distribution (on TestFlight). I have read through all instructions and done lots of web searching. My problem is with how to create entitlements.plist on Xcode 4.2.1 All instructions say go to New File, then select entitlements under code signing. This option is not available in 4.2.1 and I cannot work out how else to do it. I can build the ipa but it won't install properly on anybody's device and I am pretty sure the entitlements issue is causing the problem. This is my first app for distribution so I have no experience in doing this. Any help would be

Can anybody please shed some light on how many iOS Ad-Hoc & Development certificates are allowed by Apple? For both Enterprise and non-Enterprise accounts. Any official links will help. Thanks tymac I called Apple for a separate account question I had so I asked about this at the same time. I asked Brian ( Senior Advisor from Apple Developer Program Support ) to email it to me so it's official . There are no public facing documents for this and because of that Brian actually submitted this information to Apple as feedback so in the future it is something we would be able to reference online.

How to add a device to an existing Ad-Hoc Provisioning Profile?

Have just noticed that Apple redesigned iOS Dev Center this weekend. I need to add a couple of devices to an existing Ad-Hoc provisioning profile. But when I push Edit button, I can change only Name and App ID. Is it any way to do it except of the obvious one: to delete the existing profile and create a new one with all required devices? UPD. Now I can edit the list of devices for development profiles, but not for distribution. UPD. 2 Can edit devices for new distribution profiles, but can't do it for old. It Works! Apple fixed it. So it was a bug. Now you can edit your embedded device list,

I am using my company provided enterprise distribution profile (I donot have the userid/password to create the distribution profile) to distribute application. Recently I have upgraded from xcode 5.1 to 6. Since then I am unable to export ipa file. When I chose "Save for Enterprise Distribution" > Next it gives error "You need to add an Apple ID account that is enrolled in the iOS developer program". But earlier I used the same process to export application and used to show a window with company provided distribution profile name. Though it deploy application to my iPhone 5s. I have checked `

Share my iPhone app for testing

I'm writing a new iPhone app and want to share it with a couple of friends for testing and general feedback and sign-off. Is there a way I can do that? They are located in a different state, and they don't have a Mac either. Edit : I wrote this post a long time ago. Since then, services such as TestFlight have come along which do this entire process. This is really the way to go! You need to make an ad hoc build which your friends can install on their phones. It's a bit of a pain, but basically, the procedure goes like this: Go to the Apple Developer Center's Provisioning Portal and register
