Passing same data to a method in program gives error but not when called in Python shell

Question

I have data in verse dictionary such as [{\'name\':\'v1.1.10\', \'com\':{\'sh\':\'7f4fa178629d559c037a1f72f79f79af9c1ef8ce\'}}]

and when printed with:

prin
