Following js1568 answer. Here it is how.

$('selector').autocomplete({
   .
   .
   .
   change: function (event, ui) { 
       //your code
   },
   close: function (event, ui) { 
       //your code
   }
})

Use the close event too, if you want your code to be triggered after the user selects a value.
