Something is already running on port 3000

I have tried to run my project on my localhost but it is saying Something is already running on your port 3000.

I know this is late , but if anyone faces the same issue might want to try this

sudo kill -9 $(sudo lsof -t -i:9001)

where, 9001 is your port number.
