Updated all the dependencies to

  implementation fileTree(dir: 'libs', include: ['*.jar'])

  implementation 'com.android.support.constraint:constraint-layout:1.1.3'
  testImplementation 'junit:junit:4.12'
  androidTestImplementation 'com.android.support.test:runner:1.0.2'
  androidTestImplementation 'com.android.support.test.espresso:espresso-core:3.0.2'
  implementation 'com.google.firebase:firebase-core:16.0.6'
  implementation 'com.google.firebase:firebase-auth:16.0.1'
  implementation 'com.google.firebase:firebase-database:16.0.5'

then build -> clean project, build -> rebuild project and is working
