Android: Parsing JSON string inside of double quotes

I am normally using the following code to parse JSON strings:

JSONObject jobj = new JSONObject(message);
strmsg = jobj.getString(\"text\");

to trim double quotes from both sides:

strmsg.replaceAll("^\"|\"$", "")
