0.1 float is greater than 0.1 double. I expected it to be false [duplicate]

If you convert .1 to binary you get:

repeating forever

Mapping to data types, you get:

float(.1)  = %.00011001100110011001101
                                     ^--- note rounding
double(.1) = %.0001100110011001100110011001100110011001100110011010

Convert that to base 10:

float(.1)  = .10000002384185791015625
double(.1) = .100000000000000088817841970012523233890533447265625
