Use tabLayout.setSelectedTabIndicator(0).

tabLayout.setSelectedTabIndicatorHeight(0) is now deprecated and tabLayout.setSelectedTabIndicatorColor(Color.TRANSPARENT) won't perform as well because it uses transparency.
