I cannot start SQL Server browser

I can\'t start the SQL Server browser from SQL Service Configuration Manager 2008 version. There are absolutely no options to start the service. It

Clicking Properties, going to the Service tab and setting Start Mode to Automatic fixed the problem for me. Now the Start item in the context menu is active again.
