If settings.functionName is already a function, you could do this:

settings.functionName(t.parentNode.id);

Otherwise this should also work if settings.functionName is just the name of the function:

if (typeof window[settings.functionName] == "function") {
    window[settings.functionName](t.parentNode.id);
}
