There is another way by using functions, if you don't want to use reverse

#!/usr/bin/python

A = 'kayak'

def palin(A):

    i = 0
    while (i<=(A.__len__()-1)):
        if (A[A.__len__()-i-1] == A[i]):
            i +=1
        else:
         return False

if palin(A) == False:

    print("Not a Palindrome")

else :

    print ("Palindrome")
