apt-get update' returned a non-zero code: 100

Question

I am trying to create a docker image from my docker file which has following contains

FROM ubuntu:14.04.4
RUN echo \'deb http://private-repo-1.hortonworks.co

I had the same problem, solved it thanks to this answer :

You may want to add this line

RUN printf "deb http://archive.debian.org/debian/ jessie main\ndeb-src http://archive.debian.org/debian/ jessie main\ndeb http://security.debian.org jessie/updates main\ndeb-src http://security.debian.org jessie/updates main" > /etc/apt/sources.list

before any apt-get command in the Dockerfile.
