You can create a partial Model class

public partial class Stand
{
    public string DisplayName
    {
        get
        {
            return this.Description + "-- £" + this.Rate.ToString();
        }
    }

}

Then in your View

var stands = db.Stands.Where(s => s.ExhibitorID == null).ToList();
ViewBag.StandID = new SelectList(stands,"StandID", "DisplayName");
