SignalR: Why choose Hub vs. Persistent Connection?

I\'ve been searching and reading up on SignalR recently and, while I see a lot of explanation of what the difference is between Hubs and Persistent Connections I haven\'t be

Persistent Connection is a lower level API, you can perform actions on more specific time when the connection is opened or closed, in most applications the Hub is the best choice
