How can HTML5 “replace” Flash? [closed]

It is not simply HTML5, but when browser adoption of it is complete. For instance, the presence of the HTML5 tag means nothing without a browser provided video player to actually present the video (At which point, the hope is, Flash Video will no longer be needed). Same goes for the tag.

Additionally, HTML5's canvas element (combined with JS) allows for far more advanced graphics inside a browser than could be achieved before.
