In Chrome, how can I see what AJAX requests are being made?

In Firefox I use Firebug and I can see any background AJAX request that are made.

Here's what works for me on Linux and Windows 10:

• F12 to open developer tools
• click on the network tab on the top list,
• select XHR (it's circled in image below)
