You can also just re-enable the fields before submission using the following:

$('#form').submit(function() {
    $('[disabled]').each(function(i) {
        var d_name = $(this).attr("name");
        var d_val = $(this).val();
        $(this).attr("disabled", false);
    });
    return true;
});

$('#form').submit();
