IOS 8 Simulator unable to boot

Question

When I try to run my app with Xcode 6 Beta 4 on the Simulator iOS 8.0 I always get this error:

Unable to boot the iOS Simulator

My solution was to select Edit scheme

Then select "Run" and change "Executable" from "Ask on Launch" to my own app.

The simulator menu in Xcode was then repopulated.
