How to handle OutOfMemoryError in Java? [duplicate]

I have discovered an alternate, respecting all other views that we should not try to catch the memory out of exception, this is what I've learned in recent time.

catch (Throwable ex){
 if (!(ex instanceof ThreadDeath))
 {
  ex.printStackTrace(System.err);
 }}
