MySQL - Using COUNT(*) in the WHERE clause

I am trying to accomplish the following in MySQL (see pseudo code)

SELECT DISTINCT gid
FROM `gd`
WHERE COUNT(*) > 10
ORDER BY lastupdated DES

group by gid 
having count(*) > 10
order by lastupdated desc
