The question mayavi in python Anaconda is about a different error and on Windows, not Linux.

What do I do?

回答1:

The issue is that the conda package is for Python 2.7 and you have python 3.5. Search for a fitting package at https://anaconda.org/search?q=mayavi. There you find the package conda install -c menpo mayavi=4.5.0 which you can install with conda install -c menpo mayavi=4.5.0 and which should work with Python 3.5.

conda install -c menpo mayavi=4.5.0

Here is something you can try:

If you have Visual Studio installed, and Python Native Development Tools installed.

In Anaconda3, you can get VTK7.1.x from clinicalgraphics

conda install -c clinicalgraphics vtk

Open up the VS20xx x64 Native Command Prompt, setting up PATH for python properly: e.g. C:\Anaconda3\Scripts\activate.bat C:\Anaconda3

Then install mayavi using pip from source.

pip install mayavi

It compiles successfully with VS2017 and Python 3.6 in windows 10.

I get similar problems, curious why this would be the case. This is on Ubuntu 16.04; just downloaded the latest version of Anaconda.

Doing a 'conda info mayavi' shows no versions for Python 3 and up.

What is the best procedure for installing a package when conda won't do the trick?
