Instated of AVPLayer, you should try with following code:

Add following framework

#include <AudioToolbox/AudioToolbox.h>

And use this code,

    SystemSoundID soundID;
    CFBundleRef mainBundle = CFBundleGetMainBundle();
    CFURLRef ref = CFBundleCopyResourceURL(mainBundle, (CFStringRef)@"mySoundName.wav", NULL, NULL);
    AudioServicesCreateSystemSoundID(ref, &soundID);
    AudioServicesPlaySystemSound(soundID);
