I tried to checkout a new copy from the server, and it keep asking to upgrade. I reverted to 1.7.12. How can I fix this problem? I don't know what happened, but it seems it started upgrading the repository correctly. Is it maybe a problem with the cache? 回答1: The client side format has been changed. (As you've noticed) Before using Subversion 1.8 with existing working copies, users will be required to run the svn upgrade command to upgrade working

Install subversion repositories in my GoDaddy Shared hosting account

问题 I am a lone programmer working on many .Net projects. I work alone and I didn't used version control till now. Just recently I learned the benefits of using version control. As I have three machines I work on, keeping a sync version of a project sometimes proves to be too much. So, now I am planning to use subversion as my version control server. Having said that, I read in many threads, blogs etc about the benefits of using version control for a single developer. I agree with most of them

How can I get rid of the error “'folder_name' not valid as filename in directory” in TortoiseSVN 1.8.1 when checking out?

When trying to check out a repository, I get: My TortoiseSVN version is: I downgraded to TortoiseSVN 1.7.13: With TortoiseSVN 1.7.13, the check out works fine but I cannot update/commit and it says I need to "upgrade working directory". When trying to "upgrade working directory", it complains about a "missing default entry": Does anyone know what's going on? Ara Sargsyan Remove the space in the folder's name. In order to rename folder, open Repository Browser and rename the folder. Subversion can handle spaces in the file/folder name, but windows can not. The problem is appearing during

How to use keywords in SVN (TortoiseSVN)

I can't do a document with the Keyword Substitution tool to have only a few data as: -Date -Revision -Author -HeadURL -Id I'm doing a test but I can't implement the Keyword Substitution. I created a document Txt with the following information: svn:keywords = Date Revision Author HeadURL Id $Id: $ $Revision: $ $Author: $ $HeadURL: $ $Date: $ I do not know whether it should be implemented in a txt file or in another format. I am using TortoiseSVN and tools Subversion Edge. You have to use correct workflow and syntax Add svn-property to file (as Ken noted) Use proper syntax of enabled keywords

TortoiseSVN through a proxy script

I'm attempting to connect to a remote HTTPS SVN server from inside a corporate firewall using TortoiseSVN. I am required to use a proxy for this connection. My problem is that TortoiseSVN's proxy settings only include an option to set a direct proxy server address. The proxy I am connecting through, however, is configured via a script. In Firefox, for example, I use the "Automatic proxy configuration URL" option in the network settings. Is there any way to use a proxy configuration scripts with Tortoise? I can't find one in the config UI - is there a way to configure it through editing a

Losing SVN history on files during refactoring

问题 During some refactoring, I'm moving files around. Obviously SVN sees this as deleting the file and creating a new one since the IDE doesn't trigger an SVN rename/move operation. However I thought the SVN server would be smart enough to detect it, but this is not proving to be the case... not all the time anyway. I'm using Tortoise SVN and I am unchecking the "stop on copy/rename" button. Is this expected? Is there a way round it? Should I move files using Tortoise SVN shell commands rather

TortoiseSVN Won't Allow Me To Add Any Files

问题 I am trying to add files to an SVN repository using TortoiseSVN 1.8.1. I right click on the files and select TortoiseSVN->Add. I then select all the files in the window that pops up and click OK. Upon clicking OK, another dialog box pops up and all the files appear to be successfully added because it says "Added" next to each file and finally it says "Completed!" at the bottom. I click OK, and then right click on the parent directory and click "Commit". I fill out the message box and ensure

问题 I don't know if this hook is out-of-box or if mine is just messed up and I just need to replace it but when I go and try to edit a log comment on a commit I get this error message: DAV request failed; it’s possibly that the repository’s pre-revprop-change hook either failed or is non-existent At least one property change failed; repository is unchanged Error setting property ‘log’ I'm using Tortoise v1.6.7 but have had this problem all along since I installed Tortoise, just never looked into

Can I turn off automatic merging in Subversion?

We're looking at moving from a check-out/edit/check-in style of version control system to Subversion, and during the evaluation we discovered that when you perform an Update action in TortoiseSVN (and presumably in any Subversion client?), if changes in the repository that need to be applied to files that you've been editing don't cause any conflicts then they'll be automatically/silently merged. This scares us a little, as it's possible that this merge, while not producing any compile errors, could at least introduce some logic errors that may not be easily detected. Very simple example: I'm
