I want to change the icon on the taskbar of my software, so I changed the project settings. This path was suggested by Visual Studio itself But my taskbar still shows the same icon as before (the standard one) - In my Explorer the .exe has the correct icon, it just won't change in the taskbar. I also tried to end explorer.exe and restart the task, but this didn't help at all. I also tried to set the resolution on 16x16 and 32x32 but both didn't work. My program needs to open a series of information windows when requested by a user, and would like to implement some kind of custom grouping on the windows 7 taskbar. Desired functionality: All of my information windows should be grouped together (if grouping is enabled on the users system, that is) but my main window should NOT be grouped with the information windows. I can not spawn a new process for my information windows. Basically I want to make simple toggle program (that will be mapped to some keyboard shortcut) that set taskbar to auto-hide mode if in normal mode (and conversely, to normal show mode if in auto-hide). I noticed that my app sends icons to the Windows tray with a size of 16x16 pixels--and my Vista PC I've got a doublewide taskbar that appears to show icons at 18x18. The resizing artifacts on my app's icon look awful. How can I ask Windows what size the icons should be? edit: I'm generating the icon dynamically, with a pixel font text overlay. It seems wasteful to generate a bunch of icon sizes dynamically, so it would be nice to avoid building an icon with all the "possible" sizes (not that I'm even sure what those are). Is it possible to trigger Windows' "flash the task bar button X times or until the window comes to the foreground" behavior from a batch file? I'm trying to call the user's attention to a long-running script upon completion. Using an external program to trigger the flashing is fine, as long as it doesn't require an install (i.e. the executable can be bundled with my scripts). I've got two questions about Windows 7 task preview. In Delphi I'd like to create my own buttons inside the area highlighted in the screenshot below. 1) Is it possible to create my own controls in the task preview window (in Windows 7) like e.g. Winamp can do ? Or it's just some limited multimedia extension ? 2) If it's possible to draw there own buttons where should I start ? Example or Windows API guide-post would be helpful for me.
