I have a VSTO Outlook 2007 add-in. I am trying to get sender e-mail address when new email comes to Inbox. To do it I use the following code: void inboxItems_ItemAdd(object Item) { Outlook.MailItem mailItem = Item as Outlook.MailItem; if (mailItem != null) string emailAdress = mailItem.SenderEmailAddress; } The problem is when e-mail comes from the same domain, emailAdress contains LDAP address like /O=FIRST ORGANIZATION/OU=FIRST ADMINISTRATIVE GROUP/CN=RECIPIENTS/CN=ADMINISTRATOR while I want to get SMTP address like administrator@orgname.com My question is how to get SMTP sender address of e

How to access Application property in VSTO Outlook add-in outside of ThisAddIn class?

ThisAddIn class created with new Outlook VSTO C# project has a Application property that you can use to among other things get access to Outlook folders and items. The problem is that you can easily use it when you're inside of ThisAddIn class but there's no easy access to it from other classes in the project. This is because it's an instance property. I want to find the best way of having access to the same functionality this property provides in my other classes so I come up with two possible solutions but I don't know which one (if any) of them is good. Lets assume I want to get default

VSTO, Outlook add-ins, and Visual Studio 2015

问题 Starting with Visual Studio RC, Visual Studio 2015 appears to no longer support the Office Add-In project types from Visual Studio Tools for Office (VSTO). Lots of googlin' and questions to PMs in the MS blogs have revealed no useful information; but perhaps other in the community know more. Opening a VSTO project yield "(incompatible)". so: what is the status of VSTO and Visual Studio 2015 Is there a workaround to open the old project types in VS 2015 I don't have 2013 anymore because i

I am writing a plugin for outlook 2007 and i would like to read a property of a MailItem. In particular i'd like to know all the content-types of my attachments. Now the way i do this now is something like this: Outlook.MailItem item = OutlookItem as Outlook.MailItem; Outlook.Attachments itt = item.Attachments; foreach (Outlook.Attachment t in item.Attachments) { textBox1.Text += t.PropertyAccessor.GetProperty("http://schemas.microsoft.com/mapi/proptag/0x370E001F"); } But I would much rather just call something like. t.PropertyAccessor.GetProperty(PR_ATTACH_MIME_TAG); I can't get that later

Outlook addin Home tab with custom button

Hey all I am trying to create a button within the default Home tab in Outlook 2010. Problem being is that, in VS2013 I added a Ribbon (visual) and added the group with the button but it keeps adding that to the TabAddIns tab. What do I need to set in order for that custom group/button to display in the Home tab instead of making its own tab? Thanks! Got it! Using this link here is was able to figure out that the Home tab was called TabMail . And following these directions: A built-in tab is a tab that is already on the Ribbon of an Outlook Explorer or Inspector. In this procedure, you will add

I try to find solution to my problems but didn't find any where, hope that someone here can save me. I write add-in in JavaScript on VS2015 that encrypte and decrypte body messages. 1. The first problem is with images that the receiver can't see . (Talk about images that copy into the body by "insert picture inline" button) In Compose mode we encrypte the message and then when we decrypte it's works good because the compose mode is a client side and he his recognize the local images . In read mode when user want to decrypte the message and to see the images he couldn't see because the encrypte

ItemSend event is not firing

I have an Outlook 2007 Add-in (VSTO). Any mail sent with Outlook should be modified before that. I use the Application.ItemSend event and it works fine if I send an email directly from Outlook ( Inspector ) or through a custom C# application that uses the Send method of the MailItem . However, there is some external application that uses Outlook to send mails - which does not trigger the ItemSend event at all. The mail is moved directly to the Outbox ( I can even catch the event of ItemAdd on that folder ) and then sent. Another interesting issue is that if I define a deferred delivery rule it

VbaProject.OTM deployment

I came by this page and was thinking about the best method to distribute my VbaProject.OTM file (located into %appdata%\Microsoft\Outlook\ ) to a bunch of ~30 users at my office. Is it better to simply copy/paste the OTM file onto the network and then copy/paste it back to all users' computers (manually or with a .bat) OR would it be better to use the method described in the link above to generate a OPS file and import it back with Proflwiz.exe? What's the difference? We are all on Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 actually, we might upgrade to 2007 one day but still years from now. Finally came

In my add-in for Outlook, I have the following lines. private void ThisAddIn_Startup(object sender, System.EventArgs e) { MessageBox.Show("Hazaa!"); } private void ThisAddIn_Shutdown(object sender, System.EventArgs e) { MessageBox.Show("Shazoo..."); } While Outlook greets me with a cool "Hazaa!" upon its start, it refuses to go "Sahzoo..." on me when I', closing it. Both methods are registered in the same way using the default, auto-generated code, so I don't suspect any errors there. The other explanation I can think of is that the shutting down process is executed when the application
