I'm a little unsure how the open source licensing stuff works. If I were to choose a particular open source license, what do you actually have to do to make it applicable to your software? I would imagine it would be a little more involved than just 'stating' that you're releasing your software under LGPL. And

I have read other posts related to this but I haven't got anything concrete. I am developing an android app using phonegap which needs some sort of text translation. So I searched google translate api but they are charging price for it. They haven't make it available for testing also. So I moved to bing translate but not sure whether we can use it for android or not. If we can use then how can we use it using jQuery. I have searched a lot but not getting any concrete information. So someone please suggest Is there anyway by which google can give their translate api for testing OR A way to use

What is a quality real world example of TDD in action? What small-to-medium open source projects in .net are out there that show off best practice in TDD and might work as a reference for doing TDD right? I am looking more for an example of a living breathing project(s) that serves as a good example of TDD.

Why doesn't your company contribute back to open source? [closed]

Contributing to open source can have many forms: working with issue trackers, patches, further development, documenting, funding, etc. Assuming your company uses open source projects, what is the single most important reason why you're not contributing back to the community? We do, we're founded on Open Source - but I guess we're special ;) Anyway, this is not like a true answer to your question, but rather an answer to the "questions" in the other answers I guess. There are many ways to contribute to Open Source. Sure you can contribute code , but the other thing you can contribute is money
