Background scanning of projects slows down Netbeans 7.2

I have the latest Java and JDK. I have a PHP project (CodeIgniter). When I open it in NetBeans 7.2 I can't get rid of "Background scanning of projects". What is this? How can I accelerate it? How can I disable it? [current solution] This happens only once when you open a new project in NetBeans. Later "Background scanning of projets" works 10-15 seconds. I found a solution, however it has slight drawbacks. Use the Scan on Demand plugin. After restarting Netbeans, background scanning should be disabled by default. Use the Update Center installation method, and disable the repository after

问题 I'm a newbie in Java EE 7. I have Netbeans 7.4 with GlassFish 4.0 and Java EE 7. In a 64-bit Windows 8.1 Pro machine. I want to start the GlassFish 4.0 Server, so I clicked on the services tab in Netbeans and then in the Servers option I right-clicked GlassFish Server 4.0 and then clicked Start. When I did that I got the following message: "Could not start GlassFish Server 4.0: HTTP or HTTPS listener port is occupied while server is not running". I have also the IIS server, but I stopped it.

How do I create/use a class library with Netbeans on top of Maven?

This seems like a stupid question, but I am sort of dependent on Netbeans 7.1 wizards. There doesn't seem to be an option to do this. My web-app is built with Maven and I want to break out some of its packages into an independently built and maintained class library (specifically, the JPA part but that shouldn't matter.) Then I want to delete those packages out of the original web application and then create a dependency to the artifact that I create. So how do I get started? The Netbeans New-Project wizard doesn't seem have an option for "Java Class Library" like it does for ANT-built

How do I hide menus without a layer file in NetBeans Platform?

问题 I am having a hard time customizing my menus in the NetBeans Platform. The examples I've seen require you to have a Layer file which I don't believe I have in my NetBeans Platform Project. To hide a menu via layers you are supposed to do this: <folder name="Menu"> <folder name="View_hidden"/> <folder name="Edit"> <file name="org-openide-actions-FindAction.shadow_hidden"/> </folder> </folder> I would like to know the annotation way of hiding menus. However, if this is the only way to do it,
