ASP.NET IIS - when are requests queued?

The following article by Thomas Marquardt describes how IIS handles ASP.Net requests, the max/min CLR worker threads/Managed IO threads that can be configured to run, the various requests queues involved and their default sizes. Now as per the article, the following occurs in IIS 6.0: ASP.NET picks up the requests from a IIS IO Thread and posts "HSE_STATUS_PENDING" to IIS IO Thread The requests is handed over to a CLR Worker thread If the requests are of high latency and all the threads are occupied (the thread count approaches httpRuntime.minFreeThreads), then the requests are posted to the

Get Performance Counter Instance Name (w3wp#XX) from ASP.NET worker process ID

问题 I would like to display some memory statistics (working set, GCs etc.) on a web page using the .NET/Process performance counters. Unfortunately, if there are multiple application pools on that server, they are differentiated using an index (#1, #2 etc.) but I don't know how to match a process ID (which I have) to that #xx index. Is there a programmatic way (from an ASP.NET web page)? 回答1: The first hit on Google: Multiple CLR performance counters appear that have names that resemble "W3wp#1"

POST Ajax call results in not found using jqGrid and ASP.NET MVC 2 on IIS6

This is puzzling me. I deployed an MVC 2 application to IIS6 and everything works fine except for my jqGrid calls to get data. All is well on my development machine, but here are the two URLs I'm working with Local dev web server: POST http://localhost:port/Ctrl.mvc/JsonMethod IIS6 (notice https - not sure if that matters) POST https://www.domain.com/AppName/Ctrl.mvc/JsonMethod The latter URL results in a HTTP 404, which is really confusing as all works well on my local machine. The JsonMethod is properly declared with [AcceptVerbs(HttpVerbs.Post)] Let me know if any more info is needed - I

Mass 301 redirects in ASP.NET, including pages that need to redirect to a different place depending on the query string parameters

问题 We have several pages of our site indexed using old non-SEO friendly URLS such as http://www.domain.com/DocumentDetails.aspx?id=555. Recently we implemented routing that uses slugs stored in the database and looks up the slug to forward you to the right page using routing, for example: http://www.domain.com/Documents/Title-of-the-Document This is all well and good however we are having a hard time finding the best way to set up our 301 permanent redirects for all the links currently indexed

Wrong path returned by Environment.GetFolderPath(Environment.SpecialFolder.ApplicationFolder) under IIS6 WebService

On my test machine running (Windows XP, IIS5.1) the following code executed within a C# .NET WebService (.SVC) under a custom process identity (using machine.config to specify the user) Environment.GetFolderPath(Environment.SpecialFolder.ApplicationData); correctly returns c:\Documents and Settings\myUserName\Application Data However, on (Terminal Services) Windows 2003 machine running IIS6 and executing the same code but now using ApplicationPool to specify the same process identity the method returns: c:\Documents and Settings\Default User\Application Data Things I have checked while running

How do I create websites on remote servers using appcmd?

I have used appcmd to create websites on my local computer. There doesn't appear to be a server parameter which means that i have to remote desktop on to each machine that i'm deploying to and run the appcmd command. Also, can i use appcmd to deploy to IIS 6.0? If not, how do i deploy to remote IIS 6.0 web servers? I've tried the iisweb.vbs but i can't get it to run on my windows 7 computer because it can#t find the Microsoft.cmdlib. I have tired registering this file but it doesn't make a difference. Using psexec.exe from sysinternals has worked for me to run appcmd on the IIS7 host from my

Default.aspx with IIS 6.0 and .Net 4?

问题 We have deployed a .net 4 asp.net site on IIS 6.0. Default.aspx is configured as one of the default document. When we access the site using the following url http://testsite We expect it to render http://testsite/Default.aspx But instead we get 404 Not found error . We did not had this issue when it was deployed on .Net 2.0. Only thing that has changed on the server is that we use .NET 4 instead of .NET 2.0. UPDATE : I tried the following link but it did not work. Getting an ASP.NET 4

Getting the name of the current Windows user returning “IIS APPPOOL/Sitename”

I can't figure this out for the life of me. I'm trying to get the name of the current user logged onto Windows using the following line: string user = System.Security.Principal.WindowsIdentity.GetCurrent().Name.ToString(); When I run this line after publishing and opening it through IIS, it gives me a name of "IIS APPPOOL/SiteName". However, when I run this through the Visual Studio 2013 debugger, the correct name appears. you have to enable windows auth/impersonation on an ASP.NET site, else it will run in the context of the whatever account configured for the app pool. https://msdn.microsoft

Looking for real-time web server analytics package [closed]

问题 I am the programmer for the Education department at a county hospital. I would like to be able to see some real-time stats on an IIS6 web server that is only accessible in-house. I'm looking for something similar to what 1and1.com provides for their customers (if you're familiar with what they offer). I have a Classic ASP/VBScript based Learning Management System that I would like to do some traffic analysis on, and the last package I tried (the site for it no longer exists) ran fine for a
