Can IIS6.0 host two SSL certificates?

扶醉桌前 提交于 2019-12-05 21:46:18
We have a Windows Server 2003 machine running IIS6.0 that hosts two different websites. We purchased an SSL certificate for both domains, but then discovered we couldn't use both at once because SSL uses port 443, and I can't set both domains to use that port number. So my question is, is it possible to host https://www.domain1.com and https://www.domain2.com on the same IIS 6.0 server? If so, how can I do this? As @Bahri Gungor said the way to do this is for the server to have multiple IP addresses, have the different domains attach to different IPs and then you should be able to have each

HttpModule URL rewriting using IIS6 with no extensionless URLs

We are using the Intelligencia URLRewriting module for asp.net with version 2.0 of the framework and IIS6. Our URLs typically have no extension. I understand that IIS6 cannot really deal with this situation without a blanket wildcard (which causes other problems). However, it works! Sometimes. At other times (e.g. on one dev's machine, and on my machine when I point a different virtual directory at the app) it doesn't. By "it doesn't work" I mean the configured HttpModules never even get hit. Can anyone explain this? Thanks. So it turns out what was happening was the following: request comes

Will a Change to the IIS Home Directory Path Trigger a Restart?

In IIS (6.0 specifically), under the Home Directory tab, if I change the local path, will this cause either IIS to restart or the application pool to recycle? Related, is there a reference that outlines which changes to the IIS metabase will trigger either a restart or app pool recycle? I haven't been able to find this yet. Changing the path to a website in the Home Directory path won't cause the worker process to restart. It will however cause the Application Domain for the website to tear down and restart. Worker process restarts can be caused by a number of events, most commonly: If any of

ASP.NET MVC Wildcard Mapping IIS 6 Not Working

I have a client who is trying to deploy a site that I designed in ASP.NET MVC, they are running IIS 6 and I've talked them through on how to setup wildcard mapping to make the clean URLs work. However; when they attempt to go to the site they are still getting the normal page not found. Because for some reason the wildcard mapping isn't working. What could be the issue? I had a similar problem, turns out it was because the aspnet_isapi.dll was not allowed. Click Web Service Extensions in IIS Manager and check that ASP.NET v2.0.50727 is in the list and is allowed. In IIS 6 fo performance

How can I set global mime-types for IIS6 programmatically?

Currently I am able to to set a mime type with adsutil.vbs for the primary web site on IIS6 with the following syntax: cscript adsutil.vbs set W3SVC/1/Root/MimeMap ".manifest, text/cache-manifest" This seems to work fine when I only need to target W3SVC/1. I need to write an update script that will make sure that any sites on a given IIS6 installation have the proper mime type configured. I could either add the mime type to each individial site or at the global level. I need to do this programmatically and would like to use adsutil.vbs if at all possible. I think the easier way will be to just

ASP.Net using wrong web.config for virtual directory

We're running IIS 6 on Windows Server 2003 R2. We want to add a virtual directory that runs under .NET 4.0 to a site that runs under .NET 2.0. We've given the virtual directory its own app pool, and we've configured the virtual directory to run under 4.0. The parent site works fine, but the virtual directory throws errors that reference the parent site's web.config file. We need the virtual directory to use its own web.config file. The GUI in the IIS Manager says that the virtual directory is using its own web.config file, but the error messages we get refer to items in the parent's web.config

IIS CSS Caching

会有一股神秘感。 提交于 2019-12-05 15:16:44
问题 When we are developing new sites or testing changes in new ones that involve css after the new code is committed and someone goes to check the changes they always see a cached version of the old css. This is causing a lot of problems in testing because people never are sure if they have the latest css on screen (I know shift and clicking refresh clears this cache but I can't expect end users to know to do this). What are my possible solutions? 回答1: If you're serving your CSS from static files

This has been bothering me for a while now: Could not load file or assembly 'app_code' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified. I'm using visual studio 2008 and IIS6 and for some reason I get this weird error. Why is it trying to load 'app_code', and why does it fail? Tried to resolve it/ find out more using the information in the exception WRN: Assembly binding logging is turned OFF. To enable assembly bind failure logging, set the registry value [HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Fusion!EnableLog] (DWORD) to 1. Note: There is some performance penalty associated with

Is there a way to always require or force the 'www' subdomain on a site?

I want to prevent users from going to say example.com and only go to www.example.com, we are using IIS 6. So say they go to example.com it could tack on the www.example.com, etc. Is this a setting somewhere or will I have to code it to check for the subdomain when they land and redirect accordingly? EDIT: I know the best way is to move away from the www prefix but for whatever reason if the user launches a course (this is an LMS) without the www in the URL the tracking does not work for the .asmx file, that is why I am trying to force the 'www' because if some people don't have it then they
