Use a google font and include only [A-Z] and '&'

Is there a way to use a google font and have it load only [A-Z] and the & ampersand character? I would like to do this to reduce size and improve load time, since I will only use basic latin numbers and letters. I can host the font myself if I must and it is legal to manipulate the font package, but am not sure if self-hosting is necessary and how to manipulate google's font package. I have specified A-Z like this: http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Inconsolata&text=ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ but specifying & is troublesome. Both of these don't work: <link href='http://fonts.googleapis.com

Can Google track me if I use Google Web Fonts?

By using Google Web Fonts can/does Google process the text of the webpage (despite disallowed by robots.txt) track the visitors of the webpage, and (theoretically) recognize them track the changes made to the webpage (despite robots.txt) Except knowing that another download is made to their font and css file, of course. :) I assume Google naturally would/could count and track the number of visitors of my webpage, is this right? edit: "I", "my" - I've tried to use these terms as "generally speaking" here Google can for sure count your users and track their IP address, browser version, and such.

Should I locally store CSS generated by the Google Web Fonts API?

I am using some Google Web Fonts. I hear that Google deal with all the issues between different browsers and serve different media depending on the browser in the request header. My question is, at what point does it do this? Reason being is that for the API you can simply include a CSS file which contains the @font-face request. Can I simply include that CSS in my own CSS file, thereby saving a HTTP request, or does that CSS change depending on the browser that requests it? I really hope that makes sense. E.g., Google suggest you include the following in your CSS file: @import url(http:/

The font I´m embedding is Molengo and the problem I have is that the capital Z does not show up in Firefox 4 nor in IE 9. It does show in Chrome 10. In Firefox 4 the character occupies space and in IE9 it is totally collapsed. I can reproduce the problem not only on my test site, but also on the official Google web fonts page. At least on my

Is it possible to reduce Google Web Fonts to one request if I'm using multiple fonts?

I ran a speed test on my website and one of the suggestions was to reduce my external requests. I am using 3 Google Web Fonts, in effect 3 separate requests. Is it posible to combine these into 1 request? You can combine several fonts with just one call using the | character. Example: <link href='//fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Cantarell|Terminal+Dosis' rel='stylesheet' type='text/css'> Aren't Fonts (like image assets, JSON objects, or videos) separate resources that need individual requests? You can avoid the three requests by embedding the fonts in data: URIs inside the CSS - at least in
